Michael Quintero is a Multimedia Journalist and graduated from California State Fullerton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications emphasis in Journalism, along with a certificate in Photo Communications. Michael is currently the Creative Director for TrendyGolfUSA. His background is in street photography and graphic design. He has come on as a writer in the last few years covering stories with musicians and producers from the LA and OC music scene.

He started taking photography seriously in 2013, taking on Larry Clark and Richard Avedon’s style of photography of skateboarding and the party scene where I live. School or a career in Journalism never popped into my head as until I started noticing the cutting edge side of journalism such as Hunter S. Thompson or Lester Bangs.

This slowly led him in the direction of getting into the magazine industry with influences from Big Brother magazine and Monster Children. Michael has always been drawn to breaking the rules and creating original content and straying away from the mainstream. This doesn’t mean all mainstream media is basic, but he thinks outside the box when it comes to Journalism.

Michael is also a freelance photographer for KCRW and writes football content for Fantrax HQ. During college he served as the Managing Editor and Creative Director for Tusk Magazine and the Program and Music Director at Titan Radio. He also served as Managing Editor and Photo Editor with the Clarion newspaper at Citrus College. Also well as the founder of Basement Magazine published by Titan Radio.

Michael has worked with many brands and artist including The Allah-Las, The Church, Ralph Lauren, No Members, Andrew Bird, The Altons, Comedy Jamwich, and Young Fathers.

“The loner is the true artist,” Earl Parker, Big Brother writer.
